The St. Louis dining scene—and two individuals in particular—have reason to celebrate: Loryn Nalic of Balkan Treat Box and Jane Sacro Chatham of Vicia have both been named finalists for the 2025 James Beard Awards. The names were announced by the James Beard Foundation this afternoon.
First-time nominee Jane Sacro Chatham, Vicia’s chef de cuisine, was named a finalist in the “Emerging Chef” category, a national nod that recognizes up-and-coming talent who are anticipated to make a significant impact on the culinary scene. Like Nalic, Sacro Chatham is one of five finalists from a pool of 20 semifinalists. Her fellow finalists hail from New Orleans, Philadelphia, Providence, and Dallas. Like Nalic, Sacro Chatham credits the people she’s surrounded with as being the drivers of her success.
