Cortex District Company Immunophotonics Secures Initial $10M Series C Financing and Announces New CEO

Immunophotonics, Inc., a clinical-stage biotech company focused on developing novel immunostimulatory therapeutic approaches to enhance routine tumor ablation treatments, today announced that it had reached the milestone of closing $10 million in Series C financing. The financing is expected to support ongoing non-clinical and clinical development of IP-001, advancement of the company’s clinical Phase 2 programs, and other key corporate objectives as Immunophotonics works toward important clinical and regulatory milestones and future strategic opportunities. IP-001 is the company’s lead investigational drug candidate, which is currently being evaluated in clinical trials involving multiple solid tumor indications. The financing is expected to fund the company's planned operations through several anticipated clinical milestones and data readouts across its development programs.

Immunophotonics also announced a leadership transition effective September 1, 2026. Miguel Zubizarreta, who has served as Interim CEO since 2025, will step down from the Chief Executive Officer role and continue serving on the company’s Board of Directors. Robert Arch, Ph.D., currently President of Immunophotonics, has been promoted to the role of President and Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Arch brings more than two decades of experience in advancing immunotherapy programs from idea to clinical trials in biotechnology and multi-national pharma companies, including leadership roles spanning scientific research, business development, corporate strategy, and clinical development.
